I am a newbie but I did find this relatively easy to use. If possible I would however like the slider to be more fluid, that is, to be able to resize so that images arent cropped.

I realise that the size and many other options can be altered, and I think that's one of the many best things about this offer but it could be made easier for what I assume is the target group. All in all I think this is a terrific piece of software for people who are new to this type of thing. Would I have bought it had I known how it worked? Many thanks - iMagical. #51We have tried all day long to get the plugins generated by HiSlider to work in Wordpress. There is a flaw in the programming which calls for a 'js' folder which is not created when Wordpress creates the files and folders that go inside the Uploads folder and also the HiSlide folder inside the WP-Content folder. Two php files in particular are not programmed right, the hislider.php file and the class-hislider-model.php file. There may be others that have faulty programming as well, but even though we understand php and what it is doing, we don't know enough to fix this ourselves.I would be very surprised if anyone in this forum can come on here and say that they have used HiSlider today successfully in creating Wordpress plugins. It would be impossible considering that the paths that are created lead to folders that do not exist.

So don't waste your time. Wait for the upgrade. This isn't ready for prime time, that's for sure.

Seriously. For anyone who develops Web sites, this is a handy, easy to use tool for creating jQuery sliders. There are literally hundreds of free/paid jQuery slider plugins around, requiring varying amounts of knowledge of HTML, CSS, and client-side scripting to implement. This one requires little knowledge to create or implement fairly nice sliders.

The various image fitting options don't appear to work all that well, but then, I always recommend sizing and optimizing images first in a graphics editor before using them on the Web anyway, so that's a minor issue. I doubt seriously that I would have paid the usual asking price for the program, but, hey, for free, what's not to like. #37 Sue — If you don't know what a slider is, you don't need this software.

I have not tried to get it to work on a website. However the instructions seem to be pretty good for doing so.I would also agree that keeping the file size down on each image will help to load them on your website. There are plenty of programs that will batch file resize your images.

Super Sliders 1 1 8

I use Irfan View as my image viewer and it does a good job of resizing. I just tried File Minimizer mentioned before and that works well. My wife is a photographer. I will resize her images for the web from 3-4 mb to 70k and they still look great on the web. They would not in print. Thanks for the software.

If it works well on the web I'm in for buying it in the future. This software does what it claims. It is very easy to use. I have not tried to get it to work on a website. #34While I come here every day to see what's available I rarely, very rarely, want or need what's offered. Lagu lagu dangdut koplo 2019. I don't do a lot of video or audio and don't need all the file recovery etc. Today was a different matter. I was actually looking for a slider a couple of weeks ago. I looked at both HiSlider and WowSlider. The 'free' versions of each are cripple-ware which add a watermark to the slides. I don't do watermarks, especially other people's watermarks.

Ever.I ended up using bxslider which is free. Well, it's 'beer-ware':) Now, since there's no GUI you kinda have to know what you are doing with HTML, JS, CSS, and to some extent JQuery, to implement bxslider on a web page, However, the documentation is well done. I even added a couple of tweaks of my own. It does not offer anywhere close to the number of options and effects that HiSlider has though.HiSlider for free? Cool, I'll take it. Installation on Win8 64-bit was a breeze, registration ditto.

One of my personal tests of the quality of a program's UI is, 'Can I just jump in, feel my way around, and make something?' In HiSlider's case the answer is 'yes'. There's a couple of places where things aren't quite clear, but I poked around the buttons, etc. And it worked out. One thing that didn't work was Drag and Drop.

I couldn't drag files out of Windows Explorer into the file drop box. I had to use the File Open interface. Not real convenient since it's a poke-n-hope, no thumbnail, interface. Is that the file I wanted? Whether that's just my computer, Windows 8, or something else, I don't know.Overall, though, a big thumbs up.

Maybe for a full-time web designer or webmaster. For me, absolutely. For those complaining about a slider slowing down the load time of pages. You're loading how many photographs? And how big is each one? 5MB you say??

It's not the slider script or CSS that's causing the long load time. I read something the other day that sliders are one of the top-10 trends in web design over the last couple of years. But that doesn't mean you put one on every page of your site. Used wisely and judiciously a slider can be a fantastic addition.

Overuse it and you send your users somewhere else. Thanks for a great give-away! While I come here every day to see what's available I rarely, very rarely, want or need what's offered. I don't do a lot of video or audio and don't need all the file recovery etc. Today was a different matter.

I appreciate the free software GOTD and the vendors offer even when I don't need it. Don't mind being the guinea pig sometimes for a 'work in progress' beta that needs a lot of polishing.I also appreciate Giovanni's daily efforts to find comparative software. What I don't like at all is his increasingly smarmy attitude that insults the vendors and my intelligence.

The phrase 'getting quite full of himself' comes to mind. The phrase 'Dial it down, Giovanni' comes to mind as well.

#26Please fix the misspellings in the 'Apply All' pop up box. It should be 'apply' not 'applly.' Under the Lock Button on the toolbar, please fix the screen that keeps showing 'input your license code.'

When you go to Help About it shows the proper license information. It should show properly in both places. Also, the preview function lacks responsiveness. It works properly in IE, but not for Firefox, Chrome, or Opera. It is extremely slow when attempting to preview in non Microsoft browsers. Please fix the misspellings in the 'Apply All' pop up box.

This time your information regarding WOW Slider is not accurate.WOW Slider is only free for personal use, and sliders made with the free version include a watermark. The commercial version is $USD69.00 for a SINGLE website, or $USD99.00 for unlimited websites. It is an excellent product - at least you were partly correct - but the free version is limited, and the unlimited commercial version is much more expensive than Hi Slider's Pro version. @17 - GiovanniI find your posts unhelpful at the best of times.

I have some experience with this sort of program, so I found it very easy to use. The total size of my project, i.e., the files I would upload to my website (16 MB in this case), was about the same as the photos themselves (16 MB all together). They also do a good job of explaining how to integrate the slideshow into your web page. I installed the program just out of curiousity since I really have no use for it, but I give it a double thumbs up. Installed and registered with no problems on Win7 x64.
