I just realized I have almost 20 GB of.sims3pack files, and I just can't take the lag anymore. The launcher can sometimes be frozen all night, even after I clear my cache and restart my PC. A lot of them are objects and CAS stuff like clothes and hair. I'll still probably have to install sims, lots, and worlds through the launcher, but when it comes to CAS and build/buy mode, is it better and/or safer to extract the package files, use Delphy's Dashboard to check your files, and then use s3pe to merge them?

Or is it just as good to let CCmagic do it all automagically? Which is safer and more stable for your game? Which lets things load faster?. You have a lot of stuff, I'd backup the entire my docs folder before messing with it.I'm not sure which is technically the best way, extracting and moving stuff to the mods folder or installing via the launcher. I prefer extracting and sorting stuff myself. The advantage is its easier to keep sorted since you put things into folders and things will also show up when you select the custom content filter in the game.

Once you have things sorted however you want into folders, you can compress them into single.package files using S3PE.When it comes to sims, lots, you want those to be in.sims3pack as they contain other files in them, usually extra CC. Everything else should be good to extract and move around to your liking.You will have to clear out your Downloads folder as well of things you extracted and moved to the mods folder, else it'll continue to show up in the launcher.Once you've separated and sorted things, you should rebuild the DCBackup and DCCache folders. Unlike normal cache, these aren't generated by just running the game. They are generated when you install.sims3pack files.

The correct way to clear the cache for these folders is to rename your saves dir (sometimes it will want to remove saves that rely on content installed via the launcher like extra worlds, renaming the folder avoids that) and uninstall everything. After everything is uninstalled, close the launcher and delete both DCBackup/DCCache. Relaunch the launcher and then look to the install section, everything you left in the Downloads dir like lots will still be there.

Select them and install.Hope this helps some.
