I've bought this phone 2 years ago and working good. First thing: clean connectors (the metallic contacts at the bottom of the phone) with a nail polish removal solution so that they are in gold color.Second thing: try charging your phone with a friend's charger. If the error persists,THIRD THING: this usually solves most problems flash it (put the phone software again - R4EA031) using XS program (because the official Sony Ericsson Update Service -SEUS- will tell you that 'you have the latest software and no update is needed'-BIG help:P ).Download XS, tutorials & guides onFor firmware (phone software), go to: and go for R4EA031RED49 or R4EA031RED50, depending on your phone.There's 90% chance your problem will be solved by flashing your phone.
Rating 0. A. Adrian. 0Cc. 06 Sep 2009continueKeep holding the C button until New Hardware is recognized, drivers are assigned (30 seconds-just the first time) and on the left side of XS window a lot of lines appear, the last being 'Ready for operation!'
STEP 5: Back-up your GDFS! (settings, profiles etc) On the configuration area, click on GDFS and Backup. It's important to do so (in case something goes wrong and the phone doesn't start (never happened to me)). You'll need the usb cable from the package. Here's how:STEP 1: On your PC you will need: a) program called XS b) drivers to connect the phone c) audio/camera drivers you want to put in your phone.a) download XS from here: .Note: XS will create some folders where it is + a.txt logb) download and install USB drivers from here:c) Get sound drivers (called acoustics) for W810 fromor go to se-nse forums (you'll need to register to be able to download, though)STEP 2: Remove battery, card and SIM from phone.
Reinsert battery, but don't turn it on.STEP 3: Connect the usb cable to the PC but DON'T attach the phone yet.STEP 4: Open XS.exe and click on 'Connect'. Notice the instructions on the left in blue: Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW. Rating 0. A. as.
pTZ. 04 Sep 2009I've had this phone for a while now, the BEST I've ever has. I've dropped it so many times and it's been in the washing machine once, but it's still in perfect working order. Absolutely amazing features. The music player's great, no need for an iPod!I wanna sell it now, cos I've got a new phone, but I'm not sure how much to sell it for. Still got original box, headset, usb cable, 512mb memory card, charger, and software cd.all in good working order.Any ideas on how much I should sell it for?. Rating 0.
Hi,I don't know why, but has become 'hidden' (and impossible to reply to).so I guess we have to ask again!Here's the problem:Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) - yippee!PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click 'Update', PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says 'Preparing computer for program updates'.Then it proceeds to'Unable to install or start components for update of phone system'and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says 'Synchronizing' and then 'An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down.'
So I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated.Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in that you have hidden (!).At the end of the day, what can we do, or expect?
